Woodburning Stoves
Woodburning stoves are perfect for heating homes using renewable energy. Stove styles are available that can fit within a cosy country cottage fireplace or stand as a modern architectural centrepiece without needing a chimney-fireplace
Great For Saving Money - Burning Non Fossil Fuels
Wood burning stoves are perfect for creating sustainable energy heating while converting scrap timber into heat at a fraction of the cost of gas, coal, oil or electricity
Energy Efficiency
Modern, Carbon-Neutral Wood-Burning stoves can manage over 80 per cent efficiency compared to about 20% Efficiency for an equivalent open fire
Recycle scrap untreated timber or use seasoned logs from coppicing for virtually free home heating while reducing landfill waste
Pellet Burning Stoves North East England
Wood waste and biomass fuel products like corn and wheat husks are converted into eco-friendly high energy fuel pellets to provide a realistic alternative to fossil fuels and make an easy to handle fuel product
You can use fuel pellets to run an extensive whole-house heating system or simply to feed a pellet-burning stove fireplace insert

Wood - A renewable Fuel Source
Wood Burning - CO2 Neutral Energy
Wood is a locally-produced and renewable energy source. It can be grown and produced in commercially viable quantities from managed woodland and forestry. Wood and other Bio-Derived Fuels convert atmospheric carbon dioxide and solar energy into solid fuel. Burning wood releases the energy and carbon-dioxide.
Wood can be processed in a variety of ways: billets, chips, pellets. Most organic fuel could be made from growing bio-mass products for food or contruction and using the scrap-waste elements for fuels. Modern wood burning stoves and fires burn cleanly while having a much higher fuel efficiency than traditional open fires The heat energy released during burning can produce direct radiant heat or be used to heat water and transported safely to rooms throughout a building.
Radiant Ceramics -> wood-fired stoves
Ceramic stoves produce radiant heat that allows comfort at lower air temperatures than found in normal radiator based heating systems. Ceramic stoves are available in a variety of styles and heat outputs to suit the room.
The key factors in good stoves are that they are made of refractory material and have a long internal flame path. The refractory material allows the wood to burn rapidly and fully at temperatures in excess of 1200t . A long flame path allows the maximum heat transfer to the refactory heat store which then reradiates the heat into the room slowly.
These features allow around 70% of the heat to be used in the room instead of being lost up the chimney, typical of a draughty open fireplace. By being so effective less timber is required to heat a space. Effective combustion, a clean chimney and low pollution go hand in hand. For heating water a wood-fired boiler should be used.
Wood-fired boilers
Sophisticated boilers can heat water for domestic or commercial installations. Boilers are available in heat outputs from 15kW to 550kW.
Computer Controlled Heating
They feature fuel-air control for low pollution emissions using computer control and lambda probes to optimise combustion and develop fuel to heat efficiencies of up to 90%. Advanced combustion controlled boilers are capable of burning logs, wood-chip and pellets. Wood-chip and pellets are automatically fed. Pellet fed systems are almost as convenient as gas or oil boilers.
To maintain low emissions maximise efficiency; the heat generated is fed into a heat store. The system provides domestic hot water and space heating.
